EngiTank is a hands on engineering design challenge open to all UCI students. Participants will develop their engineering skills by designing and prototyping a project that can be anything you can think of! We'll have technical workshops along the way to help you bring your ideas to life. At the end of Winter quarter, you'll get to show off all your hard work in a Shark Tank style event and win prizes. Whether you're an engineering pro or just want to learn something new, EngiTank is your chance to dive in and have a blast!

EngiTank 25-26 is the second consecutive edition of the challenge!

Project Highlights

RockLock

A device to enhance climber safety and confidence with portable, user-friendly technology that assesses the stability of climbing anchors.

PlantPal

A Tamagotchi inspired device that uses environmental sensors to monitor a plant's health and display its "mood", like a virtual pet.

FAQs

An Engineering Design Challenge is where engineers work together to create a project to do anything! It can be to solve a major real world issue, or just something cool you've always wanted to build. You'll go through the whole design process from idea to prototype. While the goal is to create a functional solution, the most successful projects are not only effective at what they do but also innovative and exciting.

Fill out the interest form here, and attend the opening ceremony on Oct 9th, 5PM at the Antrepreneur Center!

You can fill out the form anytime, but we encourage you to sign up now so you don't miss any important announcements.

For the opening ceremony and each workshop you attend, you will receive a virtual raffle ticket just by filling out the attendance form! Raffle winners will be drawn after final presentations.

Teams can have a maximum of 4 members. While you can work in any team size up to 4, we've found that teams of 3 have been very successful in the past! Don't worry if you haven't found a team yet, we will have an opening ceremony with team formation at the end.
